Western Area Volunteer Emergency Service – WAVES Ambulance – serves the emergency medical needs of the Town of Camillus, and Minoa and Kirkville Fire Districts in Central New York, responding to more than 5,000 calls each year – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team of experienced paramedics, EMTs, and physicians are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, safety, and community service.
Established in 1975, Western Area Volunteer Emergency Service is a private not for profit 501 (c)(3) organization that is led by a volunteer board of directors. With a staff of more than 50 career and volunteer members, WAVES strives to provide the best patient care to our communities. WAVES trains its staff monthly on best practices, staying up to date on advancements in prehospital care to benefit all of our patients.
WAVES maintains a fleet of three ambulances in Camillus and three ambulances at our Minoa station. We also have both a physician response vehicle and a first responder vehicle. All of our vehicles are certified by the NYS Department of Health and exceed all DOH requirements.
